Guidelines for Effective Parenting

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As partners in your child's educational journey, we recognize the crucial role parents play in shaping their children's character, values, and future. To foster a nurturing and supportive environment for our students, we present the following commandments for good parenting:

  1. Quality Time: Spend quality time with your children and prioritize their dreams and aspirations over leisure activities. Your sacrifices today will pave the way for their success tomorrow.
  2. Respect for School: Avoid criticizing the school, Principal, or teachers in front of your children. Such criticism undermines respect for authority and may confuse children about the importance of following rules and codes of conduct.
  3. Lead by Example: Follow school rules diligently, including paying fees on time, attending all Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs), and responding positively to teachers' instructions. Your positive response sets a strong example for your children to follow.
  4. Effective Communication: Instead of impulsively defending your child if they are disciplined by a teacher, first understand the situation by talking to your child and then discussing it with the concerned teacher or Head Mistress.
  5. Financial Discipline: Teach your children the value of delayed gratification and differentiate between needs and wants. Instill discipline in their spending habits and raise them in a disciplined manner.
  6. Bag Inspection: Regularly check your children's bags and belongings to ensure they do not bring any unwanted material to school. Cooperation with school authorities in this regard is appreciated.
  7. Internet and Mobile Usage: Monitor and control your children's access to the internet and social networking websites. Firmly restrict access to harmful content and encourage physical activities over mobile addiction.
  8. Household Chores: Involve both sons and daughters in household chores to teach them the dignity of labor and channelize their energy constructively.
  9. Balanced Discipline: Strike a balance between firmness and leniency in parenting. Excessive pampering or over-pleading may have negative consequences in the long run.
  10. Friend Circle and Tuition Classes: Keep a close watch on your child's friend circle, including those from tuition classes. Visit tuition classes if necessary to monitor any changes in behavior.
  11. Financial Management: Track your child's pocket money expenditure and encourage saving habits. Refrain from giving excess money and be aware that the school will only request money from parents when necessary.
  12. Patience and Love: Be patient with your child, listen to them attentively, and provide love and guidance. Avoid anger or off-the-cuff remarks, as understanding and support can help address any negative thoughts or behaviors.
By adhering to these commandments for good parenting, we can collectively nurture responsible, confident, and successful individuals who contribute positively to society.

Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to your child's holistic development.
